Mozilla Composer - This is part of the Mozzilla web browser. It is a full featured WYSIWYG editor.

Netscape Composer - Netscape comes with a WYSIWYG web editor suitable for the beginner. If you have the full Netscape product on your machine you already have it or download it from the link.

Arachnophillia - A great basic HTML editor. Not as many features as 1st page but has some better features. This was the my first web editor. Great if you are just starting out and want to learn to write code the hard (but better) way.

1st Page 2000 - My fav freeware is a professional HTML editing (text based) software which lets you create great websites fast! It also has JavaScript wizards. It comes with ready made JavaScripts and VBScripts and also CGI Scripts. It includes a code checker and has the ability to convert existing pages to css. The feature list is extremely long.

Quanta Plus Web Development Tool - This is for Linux KDE. It has a long list of features such as syntax highlighting, site uploading, etc.

Nvu - Complete Web Authoring - Nvu is a WYSIWYG editor designed to make web authoring easy for novices. Based on Mozilla Composer. Available for Windows and Linux.

Amaya - A WYSIWYG offering for Linux.

Trellian - A WYSIWYG editor with a wide range of features including a a tool to allow viewing at different resolutions, table and form wizards, FTP and a code editor for those who can't resist getting their hands dirty.
